Dr. William Fleming is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon who grew up in Washington D.C. He attended public school, graduated from McKinley High School, and later graduated from Howard University with a degree in Chemistry. He received his MD degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and his Orthopedic Residency was completed at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Fleming is licensed with the Virginia Board of Medicine and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He is also the author of Parosteal Osteosarcoma of the Distal Tibia, which was published in the Journal of the National Medical Association Vol. 83, No. 1.
Dr. Fleming lives in South Richmond and is an active community advocate. He is the Co-Founder of the Bobcat Sports League. This organization has served almost 1500 children in the underserved areas of South Richmond. He has served as President and Vice President of Westover Gardens Civic Association and Vice President of Jahnke Road Community Development Association.
Dr. Fleming was awarded the 2012 Dr. Frisk award by HCA, Retreat Hospital. The award was for his humanitarian efforts and his community service to the residents of the City of Richmond.
